Lithium Ion Two-Way Radio Batteries

The Lithium-ion batteries are lighter and provide higher capacity for longer run times. They also provide high energy density with the potential for higher capacities. The self-charge is less than half of Ni-Cd and Ni-MH. This battery requires low maintenance since there is no periodic discharge needed due to the lack of memory effect. The battery itself allows a longer cycle as well as an extended shelf life. It is, therefore, maintenance free. It has a simple charge algorithm and needs reasonably short charge times.
